I bought this huge tub of CeraVe because I saw people saying it’s a dupe for Drunk Elephant’s LaLa Retro, and they were so right. The ingredients are super similar (ceramides, hyaluronic acid, all that good stuff), and it gives me the same deep hydration without the ridiculous price tag.

I’ve been using it on my face every night and my skin feels so soft, calm, and healthy. It’s rich but not greasy at all, and doesn’t clog my pores or break me out. Plus it’s fragrance-free, which my sensitive skin really appreciates.

Honestly, this stuff slaps for both face and body. I use it as a night cream and wake up with that glowy, moisturized look.

If you’ve been eyeing LaLa Retro but don’t want to drop $60, just get this instead. It’s a staple now.

I waited some time after purchasing to get a better idea of how I liked this. I use CeraVe face wash and really love that product. Normally I’ve been using the hydro boost for face cream, but noticed that my face was like…getting oily. I decided to buy this for a face cream option. First off, I didn’t realize the tub was so large. It’s not really a bad thing because, I feel like I’m really getting a ton of product for the amount of money I spent. I notice a little goes a long way as well. I feel like my skin is getting noticeably nicer and it feels smoother. I don’t notice any smell with it and haven’t had any skin irritation or breakouts since started using it…like, normally if were to switch to a new skincare product my skin might have a day or two where it’s breaking out. I do have combination skin where it’s oily in some areas and super dry in other areas and feel like my face isn’t getting oily or anything. Since the tub is so large, I’ve also been using it on my feet. I feel like it’s just an all around good product that I plan on making my go to cream.

It is my go-to for dry, sensitive skin. It’s thick but absorbs well, and the ceramides + hyaluronic acid really help repair and protect my skin barrier. No fragrance, no irritation —— just calm, healthy skin. I used it on my face and body, specially in winter. Only wish it came in a pump! Still 10/10 must have.

Been seeing advertisements for this product and decided to give it a try. It is absolutely great! I’ve been using another brand that is much more pricey, but that didn’t work nearly as well. This product not only does the job, but it sinks in quickly and your body or hands do not feel tacky with cream at any point. My older skin hasn’t looked this revitalized in a long time!

  8. TAKAE AKEMIYA

I generally have very good skin and as I age, it has become a dryer on some parts. After I noticed my legs feeling a little dry last year, I got a tub of creave and within a week, it was smooth and moisturised. I was pretty surprised at how fast it worked to make my skin feel healthy again. I am now on to my 3rd or fourth purchase (I dont need to use any other moisturiser as it is hard to top this one) and make sure I have one being shipped to me every time I know I am going to run out in a couple of weeks! I have the whole supply too – face cream (four types), cleanser and body soap.

I don’t usually use stuff like this but over the winter I found my lower legs’ skin was dry and a little itchy so I decided to try this.
It works well, not greasy and dries (is absorbed?) fairly quickly.
After a light application, my skin felt better and the dryness seemed to go away.
I only use this if I notice dryness, not every day.
With the size of this, I imagine it will last a long time.

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream – A User’s Honest Review

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)

As someone who values a reliable, no-nonsense skincare routine, I decided to give CeraVe Moisturizing Cream a try after hearing rave reviews. Having used it consistently for weeks, I can confidently say that this moisturizer delivers on its promises while offering a few minor drawbacks. Let’s break it down.

Performance (5/5) – Deep Hydration Without Greasiness

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to hydration. It contains hyaluronic acid and ceramides, which help restore and retain moisture, making it a great option for dry and sensitive skin. After application, my skin feels plump, soft, and hydrated for hours without any greasy residue. I’ve even noticed an improvement in my skin barrier over time, which is a huge plus.

Design & Packaging (4/5) – Functional but Basic

The packaging is simple and dermatologist-approved-looking, which makes sense given its focus on skin health rather than aesthetics. The tub format is a bit inconvenient and not the most hygienic option, but the pump version (available for larger sizes) helps mitigate this. A squeeze tube version would be a great addition for travel convenience.

Usability (5/5) – Great for Face & Body

One of the best things about this moisturizer is its versatility. It works just as well on the face as it does on the body, making it a one-product solution for dry patches, winter skincare, or everyday hydration. It absorbs quickly without feeling heavy, which is a huge bonus for layering with other skincare products.

    Skin Compatibility (5/5) – Gentle & Non-Irritating

I have sensitive skin, and many moisturizers tend to clog my pores or cause breakouts. Thankfully, CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is non-comedogenic, fragrance-free, and dermatologist-recommended, making it a safe choice for those prone to irritation. It’s also great for eczema-prone skin, as it soothes itchiness and dryness effectively.

Value for Money (4/5) – Affordable, But Not the Cheapest

For the quality and effectiveness, this cream is very reasonably priced. While it’s not the cheapest moisturizer on the market, it outperforms many high-end alternatives. A little goes a long way, so even a small amount keeps my skin hydrated for hours, making it last longer than expected.

    Pros & Cons

    ✔ Deep hydration without greasiness
    ✔ Fragrance-free & gentle for sensitive skin
✔ Multi-use for face and body
✔ Strengthens the skin barrier over time
    ✔ Works well under makeup

✖ Tub packaging isn’t the most hygienic
✖ May feel too rich for oily skin types
✖ Takes a minute to fully absorb

    Who Should Buy This?

✅ Dry or sensitive skin types needing long-lasting hydration
✅ People with eczema-prone skin looking for a soothing moisturizer
✅ Minimalists who want a single product for both face and body
✅ Budget-conscious skincare lovers looking for dermatologist-approved hydration

🚫 If you have very oily skin, you might prefer a lighter formula like the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion instead.

Final Verdict – A Staple for Dry & Sensitive Skin

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream lives up to the hype by delivering intense hydration, skin barrier support, and versatility without irritation. It’s not perfect—mainly due to the tub packaging and richness for some skin types—but it remains one of the best all-around moisturizers available.

Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) – A must-have for dry skin and a solid investment in skincare.
